Monday Meditations for Artists
A prayer of surrender.
Today I let go of the should’s, and the plans, and the agendas that keep me swimming against the current of my life.
Today, I release control.
Letting go, I open my mind and my hands, replacing my busy-ness with time to both do and be.
I create space in my day for quiet reflection.
Sitting in meditation, I follow my breath and watch my thoughts come and go, as gradually they slow.
In the moments between the witnessing of my passing thoughts, I am aware of the silent, un-named stretches of time that present themselves to me.
Resting within each silent stretch of time, I am filled with an energy that centers and calms me.
Wrapped in the silence, I am remembering that this beauty, this joy flooding my being, is my essence.
The longer I remain present to this silence, the more aware I become of the abundance that is my truth.
Following my breath, I offer a prayer of gratitude for the silence, the ability to listen, the strength to surrender, and the grace to accept my path, my creative journey.
As I open my eyes, I delight in knowing that unexpected surprises, and yes, miracles, await me.
With a heart full of faith, I take the next step on my path, guided by the call of the creative current that lives in me.
Each step I take leads me to the very center of my truth: I am a brave artist.
